- Learning happens for the entire community

- Schools operate as community buildings that are open all day long for preschool care, after school care, older adult activities, community classes and sports
- People meet for language classes, computer training and Internet access
- Family support services are available to everyone in the community
- Every child is known and encouraged by multiple adults
- Parents and older adults are an active part of everyday life in the school and community
- There are safe spaces to learn, play, create and imagine
The vision for the Emeryville Center of Community Life is being shaped through the work of the Education and Youth Services Advisory Committee with input from residents, businesses, students, teachers and other key community members.
The Emeryville Center of Community Life is a work in progress—while it is not yet built, the Emery Unified School District and the City of Emeryville are working, together with business and community partners, to develop and implement the collaborative programs that will ultimately be housed in this unique facility.
The Emeryville Center of Community Life is about building strong, sustainable and equitable communities—it is about Emeryville
