Facilities Subcommittee
|
|
The Facilities Subcommittee provides input and guidance on the City/EUSD Facilities Master Plan. The Facilities Subcommittee is co-chaired by School Board Member Josh Simon and Council Member Dick Kassis. Initially, the Facilities Subcommittee focused on learning about the existing education and youth services facilities in Emeryville, including the three school facilities, the recreation center and the child development center. Each of the school principals and center directors provided information to the subcommittee about the facilities, their current condition and how they facilitate or constrain program delivery. The committee then toured each facility and made observations regarding both short-term and long-term needs. Following this initial work, the subcommittee reviewed the process for developing a facilities master plan. This led to the vision for the Emeryville Center of Community Life and the ongoing planning for this major project. |
