The Community Center will provide space to be safe and secure, space to learn and play, and space to create and imagine.

Community Center Program
1. Community Services and Family Support
- Technology Lab, for adult education, after school classes for youth and community classes. Large enough to accommodate a minimum of 20 students/work stations.
- Program Rooms for youth and after school programming (7 at 1,400 Sq Feet each). Spaces would also accommodate a daily tiny tot program in the kindergarten room. Program rooms should be adjacent to children's garden and outdoor play areas and in close proximity to commercial kitchen for lunch program needs. Program rooms could also be used for adult education classes.
- Child-sized rest rooms for elementary programs to accommodate 200 children. Restrooms should be connected to program space and near Family Resource Center.
- Family Resource Center comprised of one large space with minimum of 10 workstations, which will be used by non-profits on a rotating schedule. Non-profits and state agencies using the space will provide direct family support services to the Emeryville Community.
- Pre-kindergarten Program Room, adjacent to K-8 school, sufficient to accommodate 20 pre-K program students per academic year and student interns. Additional space should be available to accommodate drop-in childcare needs for parents/guardians using the Family Resource Center.
- Meeting/Counseling Rooms adjacent to Family Resource Center, including two rooms to accommodate 10 people for meetings or counseling purposes. Also could be used for staff or community group meetings. Community Resource Room.

2. Fitness and Outdoor Programs
- Studio for dance/fitness to accommodate dance and tumbling classes, yoga, martial arts and other floor-based fitness programs for all ages.
- Community Gym, including dance/fitness studio and a regulation size gym floor to accommodate adult corporate leagues, youth and teen leagues and community uses such as classes, cheering, table tennis, volleyball, kinder gym, etc.
- Restrooms & locker rooms adjacent to fitness studio and community gym, including lockers and shower facilities to accommodate up to 40 users in each restroom
- Restrooms with exterior/outside access for community gym, tennis and field users to be used primarily by spectators
- Multi-sport playing field with lights and observation seating, including a regulation soccer field size with softball diamond for youth and adult leagues/practices to be used for soccer, flag football and softball.
- Tennis Court adjacent to field area with lights including a minimum of two courts for community tennis programs and use.
- Outdoor Play Space including a hard-top with full basketball court for youth practices and casual fitness use and a playground structure to accommodate elementary 5-12 year old children
- Children's Garden to be used to tie in environmental and science education to youth programs and promote inter-generational program involvement. Garden should be adjacent to programming rooms and kitchen if possible.
- Vehicle Storage area, providing a secure storage area for vans and electric vehicles
- Swimming pool and pool locker rooms
- Skateboard/BMX Park
3. Arts And Community Performance Spaces
- Art studio with dark room, suitable for intergenerational learning and adult education, as well as youth art classes. Art Space for storage of continuing projects. Space for professional artists to both use for their own art, guest teach and display.
- Music studio, including sound/mixing studio and a practice room for musicians
- Community Theatre, multi-purpose/performance space
- Commercial Kitchen (adjacent to multi-purpose space)
- Outdoor Amphitheatre
4. Administration Space
- Reception Area to be located at main/central entrance to the building with space for three workstations. Functions include general information, community display space for events/programs, registration, sign-in/out of youth participants and mail sorting.
- Employee Break Room located near resource room and outside/garden areas with sufficient space to accommodate 15 people at a time.
- General Office Space near reception area, resource room and Family Resource Center with sufficient space to accommodate 15 full-time employees and one private conference room to accommodate 10 for parent/staff or personnel conferences. This space used exclusively by City staff.
- Copy and Resource Room including space for bulk copying, paper storage, employee resource materials, built-in bookshelves and workstations to be used for seasonal employee research
- Centralized Storage Room (large, secure room with no windows) with built-in shelving sufficient to accommodate large amounts of seasonal, large and odd shaped supplies
